After graduating from Randolph-Macon College in 2000, John hit the tournament circuit full time. In his first year, he placed 3rd in a BASS Invitational and won a boat. He attributes that finish to financing his career. Since that time, Crews has scratched and clawed up the ranks of the professional bass fishing trail. He now competes on the B.A.S.S. Elite Series and has qualified for the Bassmasters Classic 6 times.
When not on the road fishing a tournament or making an appearance, John enjoys spending time with his family. He and his wife, Sonja, live in Salem with their 2 children, Noah and Myah. John and Sonja are expecting another addition to their family in January. John also enjoys working out, coaching youth sports, hunting, and fishing.
John feels like he has the dream job. He gets to spend time outdoors, fish in competition, and see his kids grow up. He grew up hunting, fishing, and playing sports. The pro angler life allows him to continue these passions. To find out more information on John Crews, please visit his web site at www.JohnCrews.com
